Wild West Yellowstone Rodeo puts on a thrilling rodeo in the summer months. You won't want to miss the action here. In fact, since the rodeo grounds are located along highway 20 en route from West Yellowstone to our ranch, many guests spend the afternoon riding horses at the ranch and then attending the rodeo that evening on their way back to West Yellowstone. Be sure to listen for the cowboys' names in the rodeo; many of our guides are participants in the rodeo action too!
Meadow Vue Ranch also has a weekly rodeo on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This ranch is nestled in a beautiful location is Island Park, and the best part of the deal includes a cowboy cookout after the rodeo is over. We highly recommend checking them out!
Our top recommendation for Island Park is Eagle Ridge Ranch of course! But the following are also great places to stay. Eagle Ridge Ranch and Yellowstone Horses are seperate businesses; we cannot make reservations for you for cabins at the ranch. Please call Susan at 208-558-0900.
-McCrea Bridge Campground (Forest Service)
-Buffalo Campground (Forest Service)
-Red Rock Campground and RV Park

--West Yellowstone Imax Theatre - This is what big screens are all about! Several films show at the theatre daily, most of them with a Yellowstone theme. As a bonus, the theatre boasts an incredible gift shop!
--Playmill Theatre - Each summer the Playmill Theatre puts on three different plays for guests' enjoyment. You may even want to go three nights so you can see them all! Many of the actors and actresses have been performing at this theatre in West Yellowstone, MT for years.
Many guests want to know if we see bears on the horse rides. Thankfully, the answer is, "not very often." Bears are one animal in the wild that horses DO NOT LIKE! If you'd like to see bears, we recommend the following businesses:
--Grizzly Wolf and Discovery Center - Don't leave Yellowstone without first checking out the Grizzly Wolf and Discovery Center in West Yellowstone. If you have kids, you'll want to check out the "keeper kids" program they have where the kids hide berries and other foods in the bear compound, and then watch as the bears are released to find the food.
--Yellowstone Bear World is a drive through park filled with a vast variety of Yellowstone animals. Also, the petting zoo is especially fun for the young ones. Located right off Highway 20 in Rexburg, Idaho, you'll find Yellowstone Horses at Eagle Ridge Ranch is on the way. So if you are coming from Old Faithful or somewhere inside Yellowstone, make a day of it and visit our ranch en route to Yellowstone Bear World.
